There is only one way to make something happen. That is to set the forth an action, to knock down the first domino, to toss that first stone. To start. And that is what today is all about. Making ripples in the lakes of our lives.

Let's go on with that metaphor. What are lakes? They are bodies of water, yes, but they serve a greater purpose. They are ecosystems to plants and animals. A lake can even be just a beautiful place to visit and make memories by. Lakes reflect the moon at night, a silver disk on cool, still water, life brimming underneath. Gorgeous, really. But let's take that a step farther. Lakes can also be dumping grounds for all sorts of pollutants, trash and chemicals. It's unfortunate what can be done to tarnish such natural beauty.

Aren't we like lakes? We are full of life, ideas, memories, and a plethora of other charming qualities and characteristics. We have the ability to support and sustain something much larger than us, we each have something to contribute to this world. That's beautiful! But, (big ol' but,) we constantly have negativity thrown our way. These are our pollutants, suffocating the parts of ourselves that are so valuable and wonderful. What can be done?

Let's talk about it.

One thing I like to say is that I don't know all things, but I know some things. I've always wanted to share these things with others in a general, really broad-spectrum way, but my self-doubts really got into the way of making that a reality. Not anymore. I'm going to start. This page is intended to inspire. There is already so much negativity ready for consumption, but rarely do we encounter some real life lessons from imperfect people, just like ourselves, who are doing the best they can. As previously mentioned, we all have something to offer. Let's breathe new life into one another and address those flaws in our systems in order to make a change, a real change. Let's start.
